A Pictorial Tribute to the Search and Rescue Dogs of 9/11
After the attacks of September 11th 2001, 100 loyal search and rescue dogs combed the World Trade Center site for anyone who might be trapped in the rubble. Now, only 12 of the heroic canines survive. Dutch photographer Charlotte Dumas captured images of the remaining dogs and marks the anniversary of 9/11 with a collection of the photos in her new book “Retrieved”. Ms. Dumas spoke to Animal House producer Steve Williams about her experience.
